About Khrisi Valdez
Owner & Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist at On The Spot Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Â
Hello, I’m Khrisi Valdez.  My passion is to educate others about the importance of proper tongue posture, swallowing, nasal breathing, and mouth closure. I firmly believe that developing these habits at a young age is crucial to long-term health and well-being, and I’m dedicated to helping individuals of all ages achieve this.
Â
With over 25 years of experience in the dental field, primarily in pediatrics and orthodontics, I have developed a deep understanding of the oral and facial structures. Before transitioning into Orofacial Myology, I worked closely with a dentist specializing in lip and tongue tie treatments. During this time, I assisted chairside and educated patients on airway function and post-procedure care. The transformative results I witnessed in many of these patients—particularly those who had struggled with lip or tongue restrictions for years—motivated me to pursue a career in Orofacial Myology.
Â
My interest in airway function and its profound effect on overall health began 8 years ago and continues to drive my ongoing education. I trained under Sandra Coulson, becoming certified in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OM) through The Coulson Institute. I also had the honor of teaching alongside Sandra for several years. Currently, I am pursuing Dual Certification in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy at the Colorado School of Energy, as well as furthering my expertise with Masgutova Neuromuscular Reflex Integration (MNRI) Dynamic and Postural techniques and the MNRI Oral-Facial Reflex Integration Level I.  I am also in training for Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with a dual certification in Polarity Therapy. This additional training helps me support clients in calming their nervous systems, which can reduce anxiety, stress, and mood fluctuations while improving sleep, concentration, and overall performance.
Â
My goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment where each individual feels valued and comfortable. I especially enjoy working with children, as it’s often easier to guide them toward healthy habits, and I love hearing their unique perspectives. That said, working with adults is equally rewarding as they too experience remarkable improvements.
Â
Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband, daughter, and our two dogs. I enjoy reading or listening to audiobooks, juggling family activities, and keeping the atmosphere lively with music—whether it's hip-hop, R&B, old-school jams, salsa, or cumbia. There’s always room for dancing in our home!
